(The Sprinkler) is fun, informative and value add! The podcast is currently on hiatus. They

remind their audience that they leave politics at the door. Their energy is positive and wellness

based. Share gratitude and be cool to one another!

We bring old school and contemporary ideas to the table.

Mykal & I operate with the credo; be cool to one another. We want to connect with people, and

be present while we enjoy this journey. We have embarked on something that is moving in a

direction that affords us to display our creativity and love for film & music!

Come with us as we explore ways to live in the moment and appreciate all we have, rather than

what we have not.

Welcome psychos one and all!

The Sprinkler: Update

We are reviewing our newsletter, The Sprinkler. We are considering a change with this newsletter

Grave Thoughts (new) - Peculiar Headlines

Rock N Roll Image of the Month (RRIM)

Interesting Individual of the Month (IIM)

Let’s start with a film quote we love:

“All Im doing is rearranging the curtains in the insane asylum.”

Wes Craven

The Psycho Scale:

We use our Psycho Scale for film and TV series rating scores. Our Psycho Scale is 1-Psycho, with

Psycho being the highest; 10. Mykal and I watch all scored films and TV series; drawing from

decades of real viewing experience.

I said wow last month; this month it is more like Wow! Wow! We consumed lots of movies, and

enjoyed sharing some of our so-called favorite’s lists. I love movies, as does Mykal. It’s why we are

pursuing what we are. Writing treatments and scripts seems to come easy for us. We are moving

to the next chapter, which will include making a short horror film. Mykal is working on two

trailers for our two scripts. We are working on our second script and continue to add to our

treatment library! For the love of film! Psycho Studios will be successful! Cheers to that!

Here is a list of our favorite films when we are looking at just cinematography.

These are in no particular order.

Oppenheimer 2023 – This is an expansive film that is a must see.

Once Upon a Time in Hollywood 2019 – What a beautifully shot movie, and the retro theme is

captured brilliantly

Nosferatu 2024 – This so-called horror film is breathtaking!

Midsommar 2019 – One of our favorite slow burn horror films, that just happens to be shot in

such an artistic fashion!

The Dark Knight 2008 – We love Nolan’s work, and his Batman is worth watching with the

sound down!

Interstellar 2014 – Another Nolan film on this list, his story telling is amazing, the viewing of his

films is what masterpieces look like.

The Godfather 1972 – This vintage film (man am I old!) really started a complete change in the

film business. This was ground breaking in many ways! The way the film was shot giving light

and dark their own roles is beauty incarnate!

Our fav horror icons in no particular order.

What are your favorite horror icons?

Mykal’s:

Frankenstein’s Monster 1931

Freddy

Wolf Man 1941

Werewolf from American Werewolf in London

The Thing

Terrifier: Art the Clown 2018

Leatherface 1974

Scream – Ghost Face

Candyman

Jason

Honorable mention:

The Creeper from Jeepers Creepers

Mike’s:

Frankenstein’s Monster 1931

Dracula 1931

The Wolf Man 1941

Creature from the Black Lagoon 1954

Michael Meyers 1978

Freddy 1984

Jason V 1982

Terrifier: Art the Clown 2018

Ghost Face 1996

Leatherface 1974

Honorable mention:

Billy from SAW

Here is a list of films we watched in June, holy cow!

Until Dawn 2025 – 2 This film was terrible, period.

Maniac 1980 - 6 Mykal recommended I watch this 80’s gem, not sure how I missed it. It is a must

watch for 80’s horror fans, artsy and unique.

Final Destination 2025 - 5 from each of us. We went to see this anticipated sequel to the 2000

classic for a matinee. Our score may be generous, poor cast, story and dialogue.

The Fugitive 1993 - Solid 6. Tommy Lee Jones is great & terrible in his role. Harrison Ford slays

it per usual. Great suggested rewatch from Mykal!

Womb 2025 - this film is a 2! Unwatchable; terrible acting and dialogue!

The Evil of Frankenstein 1964 – 7 Another Hammer classic, a must watch for vintage horror

fans.

Smile 2022 - 7.5 This was a great rewatch, great cast and story. Awesome pace!

Documentary - Implosion: The Titan Sub Disaster 2025 - 2.5 What a horrible documentary on

such a compelling and tragic subject! Amateur hour!

Ouija A New Beginning 2025 – 1 The score should say it all.

Mission Impossible Final Reckoning 2025 - 8.5 late night IMAX. This was so cool to see this late

at night at IMAX! Great action film and cast. Not typically my cup of tea.

Demoni (Demons) 1985 - 3 Dario Argento wrote - produced. Motley Crue was played within the

movie along with Billy Idol’s White Wedding. An Italian demon film, poorly done.

Psycho II 1983 - 3 Anthony Perkins returns as Norman. Robert Logia is a brief highlight in the

film. Terrible cast, story, pace and dialogue. Tragic.

Psycho III 1986 - 2 Anthony Perkins returns but cannot save this even worse sequel. Jeff Fahey

appears as the loser. Almost unwatchable.

The Longest Yard 1974 - 5 I saw this film at a drive-in theatre back in the day. Burt Reynolds

stars. Albert S Ruddy, the producer of The Godfather wrote and produced. Not into prison films.

Abduct 2025 - 2 terrible film, not even bad in a good way.

Morgan Killer Doll 2025 - 2 Almost unwatchable, trying to ride the coattails of M3gan, this film

is putrid!

Friendship 2025 - 2 Hard to even explain this film, so I won’t try. Paul Rudd stars. If you are

looking for weird and unique this is for you. Uneven. Unfunny. Unbearable.

Nightmare 1981 – 9 This hidden 80’s gem was a gift on DVD from Mykal to me on Father’s Day!

We watched this film together, and it blew us away! The story. The locations. The

cinematography. The pace and tone! Incredible. A must watch for 80’s horror fans!

The Shrouds 2024 David Cronenberg - 7 This film is trippy as Hell! Written and directed by the

senior Cronenberg, his body horror history is on full display. Another hard one to describe,

anyone seeking a unique horror experience has to see it! Great cast, story and locations!

Mykal’s take on The Accountant films: The Accountant 2016 - 6.5 I’ve seen worse. The

Accountant 2 2025 – I couldn’t score it, as it was so bad I couldn’t finish it! One of the worse

movies I’ve seen this year, and that is saying a lot!

My take on these films is that The Accountant is a hidden gem, Ben Afleck is great in this along

with a stellar cast. This was like, John Wick being a CPA. I give it a 7.

The sequel, is terrible. A huge budget did not save this film. It did ok at the box office, but off

such a large budget it underperformed. The sequel lacks any of the human condition and

surprises the first film brought! Score it a 1!

Here are some TV series we have recently watched and scored. We did not consume many TV

series, which is more of the norm. Mykal takes in more TV than I.

Your Friends and Neighbors with Jon Hamm is entertaining. Hamm’s main character seems to

borrow from Don Draper and his feature film portrayal of Fletch. The show has a stellar cast,

smart and biting writing and an interesting Breaking Bad like element. We give this series an 8,

five episodes in on our Psycho Scale!

End of season wrap up; Your Friends and Neighbors 2025 – 9 for the season as a hole. This is an

excellent show that really digs into the human condition on so many levels. Great cast, writing

and locations. What more can you ask for?

Rick and Morty season 2025 - 8. We are five episodes in and there have been two real good

episodes and three so-so. I feel the voice of Morty is irritating as opposed to cute like it was prior

to the change with the voice actors. The episodes have also missed a lot of the synergy between

the five main characters and the cutting humor that is usually on display. Rick and Morty fans

will still enjoy.

We look forward to the premiere of The Bear at the end of June! (2022) Season four is much

anticipated! A uniquely different series that is about so much more than food. Yes Chef! See it on

Hulu.

Mad Men 2007 – 8.5 This series never gets old for me. I rewatched all seven seasons, and

appreciated even more than I had previously. Season seven is the weakest to me, but it has its

moments. If you like the 1950s-1960s and great acting and story this is a must watch! Jon Hamm

plays Don Draper in the titular role and is incredible! The ensemble cast is amazing and the sets,

clothing and writing kill it!

True Detective season 1 2014 – 7 I watched this based on Mykal’s recommendation. It is

engrossing and entertaining. I’m a Matthew McConaughey fan and he is brilliant in it!

I’m not a fan of Woody Harrelson, but he is great in this role! Unique. Great cast and writing!

The Boys 2019 revisited – 9 I’m rewatching The Boys as we await the next season sometime in

2026. This unique take on super heroes is not for everyone. Rated TVMA, from Amazon Studios

this show is over the top gross, violent and twisted! Great cast, story and dialogue, it is a must

watch for super hero fans that like it dark and sick! Here’s an example of the weirdness: one of the

most poignant moments in TV series history is when main character, Homelander finds a bottle

of leftover breast milk from the woman he loved and killed. He thaws the frozen bottle with his

laser eyes and drinks the entire contents!

More revisits:

Severance Season Two ended with a roar, with one of the more memorable endings to a TV

series season! The show is a must watch for anyone that digs sci-fi drama and outstanding cast

and smart dialogue and story. All episodes in Season 2 came in with a Psycho rating of 9 with the

last episode of Season 2 being a 10!

Better Call Saul – We finished this spectacular series, better late than never. We wanted to watch

it together and it took many unfortunate events for us to find the time and space. The show is

beyond smart, amazing cast top to bottom, beautiful cinematography and sensical dialogue. This

is a 10!

Two 10s in a row? Yes!

June was an odd month for me music-wise. There was some new music I dabbled in, but I stuck

to my tried-and-true playlists. I was heavier on film than I was music.

New Music:

NEW 2025

Green Day Saviors (edition deluxe) 22 tracks 1hr 6min. Overall album comes in at a vanilla 5!

NEW 2025

Rise Against Want It All This song rocks and comes in at an 8. Captures their essence as a

unique rock group.

3 songs. 9 minutes.

New 2025

Pop Evil

2 tracks. 7 minutes. Wishful Thinking 1 & 2. Yikes 2 each. Not worth listening to. The sound I

was familiar with this group has dramatically changed.

VINTAGE

SWEET

Desolation Boulevard 1974 10 tracks runtime 43 minutes. This album takes me back with several

hits. A must listen for 70’s rock fans.

VINTAGE

RUSH

Moving Pictures 1981 (2011 Remastered) 7 tracks at 39 minutes. This short album comes in at a

6. I wore this album out back in the day. Eclectic rock sound by three guys from Canada.

VINTAGE

GODSMACK

Faceless 2003 12 tracks 47 minutes. This album rocks! Godsmack punches you in the face with

their hard driving sound and vocals. A strong 8!

NEW 2025

SWEET

Hannover Sessions 2025 53 tracks 3hr 46 minutes. This album is almost four hours in length!

This is for true Sweet fans, and I’m unable to give it a score as I’m still thinking about it.

NEW 2025

Chevelle 2 tracks 9 minutes. These two tracks are Chevelle all the way. This rock group is one of

our favorites. Their deep and personal lyrics coupled with incredible rock musicianship simply

crush it!

Jim Jones (Cowards Pt. 2.) 7

Rabbit Hole (Cowards Pt. 1) 6

NEW 2025

The Offspring OK, but this is the last time. 2 versions. One with piano. 2tracks. 6 minutes. We

dug The OffSpring back in the day. These two songs fall flat and scream pop rock! We give it a 3.

NEW 2025

Seether Walls Come Down 2 tracks 8 minutes. One song is acoustic and one not with same title

and lyrics. Loved Seether back in the day, this is just sad bastard music and the acoustic version is

sadder than the other. Maybe that is what people want. I want my rock to have energy that can

be taken to positivity. Fuck this droning on and sad bullshit! We give it a 2.

Vintage mention – Mykal is great about sharing music, often several times per week. As we were

coming to the end of June, Tesla and Fastway were shared. These two rock bands that were

rocking it in the 1980s are a unique pairing. Tesla had more success than Fastway, both having

their own unique sound. Tesla’s lyrics and music were different than so many other of the hit

groups from that era. Fastway gained some notoriety when the movie Trick or Treat hit the big

screen. Their music is not only played throughout the film, they also did a lot of the soundtrack

and their songs are central to the plot. I know I’m this old man who never stopped loving rock

music. We can’t be right or wrong about music, it’s what moves us!

Recommendations Revisited:

Creed gets a bad rap from many. Mykal and I dig this rock group and suggest their album My

Own Prison (1997). Human Clay (1999) rocks as well. Let’s not forget one of the best rock songs

made for a feature film: Scream 3’s What If! Creed as a group is an 8!

Alice In Chains Sap - EP –1992 – this is a 10! 4 tracks. 16 minutes.

4 tracks. 16 minutes.

That EP is wild, 4 songs. With one of my favorite rock songs of all time, in my top 10 - Got Me

Wrong. To hear Cornell’s vocals on that track is hauntingly beautiful.

Oddly, Ann Wilson from the chick rock group Heart (formed in Seattle in the early 1970s) shared

her excellent vocals as well.

That specific song Right Turn is so poetic. Beautiful. Such a powerful and heartbreaking tune.

Lane Stanley was not long for this world, his music was beautiful, dark and telling. RIP.

Music from Ash vs Evil Dead 2015 - The music from this far out series is a mix of pop and classic

rock – for sure worth a listen! Reach out if you would like that playlist!

Retro Talk:

Led Zeppelin. I have been revisiting this amazing rock group from the late 1960s and into the

1970s. So many of their core songs were overplayed where I grew up listening to terrestrial radio.

I’m remembering how amazing this classic and ground breaking group truly was! The vocals of

Robert Plant, the amazing lead guitar mastering of Jimmy Page along with John Paul Jones and

his unwavering bass work! Let’s not forget one of the greatest rock drummers of all time, the

thunderous John Bonham. (RIP) If you listen to the mighty Zep’s album catalog you will find no

song is the same. They were truly one of a kind and a tight knit group. When their drummer,

friend and family member John Bonham died in 1980, the group announced that was the end of

Led Zeppelin. On a random side note, my good friend and I were going to drive down to

Chicago from Milwaukee in 1980 to acquire tickets for the Led Zeppelin show in Chicago, sadly

that was never meant to be. Shout out to one of the greatest groups of all time! Over the Hills

and Far Away!

Long live rock and roll! Mykal and I are looking forward to the Nine Inch Nail’s concert later

this year! Broken record time!

We are refraining from dropping anymore playlists. If you are ever in need of great play lists and

you have Spotify, hit us up and we’ll be happy to share!

Rock N Roll baby! Mykal and we use Spotify Premium!

Rock and Roll Image of the Month! (RRIM)

Dave Grohl

This month’s image is of the Dave Grohl. Dave is a master musician with the

resume to back it!

Dave became the drummer for Nirvana in 1990. The power trio that defined grunge was driven

by the tight drumming from Grohl. Dave founded Foo Fighters in 1994, the same year Curt

Cobain died. The Foo Fighters were initially going to be a one-man project. The Fighters of Foo

have been an incredible group, album after album (11 studio), along with concerts and a feature

film (Studio 666). Dave has weathered tragedies in both groups; Curt’s passing along with his

good friend & Foo drummer Taylor Hawkins untimely passing. Dave is an incredibly talented

multi-faceted artist! We’re all Learning to Fly

8 Things to Know About Meditation and Mindfulness

Meditation has a history that goes back thousands of years, and many meditative techniques

began in Eastern traditions. Some types of meditation involve keeping mental focus on a

particular sensation or a repeated word or phrase. Others include the practice of mindfulness,

which involves keeping attention or awareness on the present moment without making

judgments.

Here are 8 things to know about what the science says about meditation and mindfulness

for health:

1. Mindfulness-based practices may be helpful for anxiety and depression. They are

better than no treatment at all, and they may work as well as established evidence-

based therapies such as cognitive behavioral therapy.

2. Studies that looked at the effects of meditation or mindfulness on pain have had

mixed results. The evidence for a beneficial effect on chronic pain is better than the

evidence for an effect on acute pain.

3. Mindfulness meditation practices may reduce insomnia and improve sleep

quality. Their effects are comparable to those of cognitive behavioral therapy or

exercise.

4. Meditation and mindfulness may reduce symptoms of post-traumatic stress

disorder (PTSD). In one study in veterans, meditation was as helpful as prolonged

exposure therapy, a widely accepted treatment for PTSD.

5. Mindfulness-based practices may help people recover from substance use

disorders. These practices have been used to help people increase their awareness

of the thoughts and feelings that trigger cravings and learn ways to reduce their

automatic reactions to cravings.

6. Mindfulness-based approaches may improve mental health in people with

cancer. Most of the people studied have been women with breast cancer; effects

might be different in other groups of people.

7. Studies have suggested possible benefits of meditation and mindfulness programs

for losing weight and managing eating behaviors. Programs that combine formal

meditation and mindfulness practices with informal mindfulness exercises seem

especially promising.

8. Meditation and mindfulness practices are usually considered to have few risks, but

some people do have negative experiences with these practices. In an analysis of

studies on more than 6,000 people, about 8 percent of participants reported

negative effects—most commonly, anxiety or depression—which is similar to the

percentage reported for psychological therapies.

What are the different types of relaxation techniques?

Listed below are some of the different types of relaxation techniques.

Progressive Relaxation: Also called progressive muscle relaxation, this technique involves

tensing different muscles in your body and then releasing the tension.

Autogenic Training: Through a series of mental exercises involving relaxation and ideas

you suggest to yourself (autosuggestion), your mind focuses on your body’s experience of

relaxation.

Guided Imagery or “Visualization”: In guided imagery, you picture objects, scenes, or

events that are associated with relaxation or calmness and attempt to produce a similar

feeling in your body.

Biofeedback-Assisted Relaxation: Through feedback that is usually provided by an

electronic device, you learn how to recognize and manage how your body responds. The

electronic device lets you see how your heart rate, blood pressure, or muscle tension

changes in response to feeling stressed or relaxed.

Self-Hypnosis: In self-hypnosis programs, people learn to produce the relaxation response

when prompted by a phrase or nonverbal cue (called a “suggestion”) of their own.

Breathing Exercises: For breathing exercises, you might focus on taking slow, deep

breaths—also called diaphragmatic breathing.

Our credo since our inception has been no politics. This commentary may border that statement.

I do my best to stay away from the news. Local news. National news. News on TV, news on social

media and the like. I use to stay on top of what was taking place in the world. Around the time

Covid-19 broke out and the country and the world were reeling from the pandemic I decided to

stop the newswatch. I kept my eyes on the Covid-19 updates at the time for health purposes but

moved away from staying in the loop. We fast forward to today, some five years post the height of

the pandemic; I view less news than ever. I stayed in contact with the news when the presidential

election was being held, and once that was completed, I retreated. The last few months I was

keeping my ear to the ground more than I had in a while. This past Sunday, I texted a few of my

friends: Hard to believe the U.S. just dropped bombs on another country, and tonight we will

watch the NBA Finals! This, without a doubt helped me course correct and refrain from

following the news to speak of.

This is not about politics, this is about the state of the country and the world. This is about being

present, live in the moment and appreciate what we have and not what we don’t have. The last

six months have been extremely challenging for my son and I. I know that many people have

experienced challenges and hardship over that same time frame. Life is bittersweet. It’s about

having grace for ourselves as well as those around us. I consistently touch base with those I know,

and with some I share more personal thoughts. I’m grateful for the life I live, I’m grateful for my

son, and I’m grateful for what my son and I are working towards.

So many have it so much worse than I. I’m not complaining, I’m simply very grateful to be in the

world and place I am.

Jim Morrison often sang, break on through to the other side. This is something I did this month,

and needed to kick my own ass! I challenge everyone to be cool to others. I challenge everyone to

share and show gratitude. I challenge everyone and myself to be present and live in the moment.

WE fucking got this!

This is a new topic area for The Sprinkler. This will be stories of the morbid and macabre! This

section will be gross and gory to go along with the theme of our favorite kind of movies – horror!

There will be shares of old and new stories to include mysteries, murders and serial killers. What

makes so-called humans’ prey on one another? People are fascinated by these topics, similar to

the way many people slow down to observe a gruesome car accident. Oddly enough, I have a lot

of knowledge in this area due to it being one of the rare topics my parents actually talked to me

about. No wonder why I turned out so weird! Interesting note, I don’t follow the morbid and

macabre as many might think. I don’t gravitate to the reality TV series about murder and

mayhem. I think due to Mykal and I using our creative skills to recreate heinous acts in our

stories it eliminates any desire to seek these stories out. We will share 3-5 stories each month that

fall into this category. For the second month for this new topic, we have a couple of historical

shares from Mykal. The third one is also historical about a serial killer I would hear my mom and

dad talk about when relatives would visit. Oddly enough, this serial killer is used as a side story in

an episode of Mad Men.

Let’s get bloody!

The frozen remains of John Shaw Torrington, who died in 1846. He was a Royal Navy stoker

and part of the 1845 Franklin Expedition to find the Northwest Passage. Torrington was the first

fatality of the expedition in which all personnel ultimately died. His body was exhumed by

forensic anthropologist Owen Beattie in 1984, to try to determine the cause of death. His remains

are among the best-preserved example of a corpse since the ancient Tollund Man which was

found in the 1950s.

More Grave Thoughts:

Joel-Peter Witkin is an American photographer known for exploring dark and provocative themes

such as death, corpses, and physical diversity. His work often features elaborately staged scenes

with models including people with dwarfism, intersex and transgender individuals, and others

with unique physical traits. He’s praised for portraying these subjects in a respectful, artistic way

often drawing on religious or classical painting styles through complex, theatrical compositions

called tableaux vivants. Witkin lives in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

And to wrap up this month’s Grave Thoughts we share some history about the human monster

Richard Speck.

Richard Benjamin Speck (December 6, 1941 – December 5, 1991) was an American mass

murderer who killed eight student nurses in their South Deering, Chicago, residence

via stabbing, strangling, slashing their throats, or a combination of the three on the night of July

13–14, 1966. Speck also raped one victim before killing her. A ninth potential victim, student

nurse Corazon Amurao, survived by hiding beneath a bed.

Convicted of all eight murders on April 15, 1967, Speck was sentenced to death. His sentence

was reduced to 400–1,200 years in 1972. This was later reduced to 100–300 years. Speck died of

a heart attack while incarcerated at States ville on the eve of his 50th birthday.

Speck& jury trial began April 3, 1967, in Peoria, Illinois, three hours southwest of Chicago, with

a gag order on the press.  In court, Speck was positively identified by the sole surviving student

nurse, Corazon Amurao. When Amurao was asked if she could identify the killer of her fellow

students, Amurao rose from her seat in the witness box, walked directly in front of Speck and

pointed her finger at him, nearly touching him, and said, this is the man. In addition, Lieutenant

Emil Giese testified that fingerprints at the scene had been matched to Richard Speck. On April

15, after 49 minutes of deliberation, the jury found Speck guilty and recommended the death

penalty. On June 5, Judge Herbert C. Paschen sentenced Speck to die in the electric chair, but

granted an immediate stay pending automatic appeal. The Illinois Supreme Court subsequently

upheld his conviction and death sentence on November 22, 1966.

The heinous crimes this monster committed are only half the story, but we will end this portion

here. The term serial killer was not coined until the mid 1970s by an FBI agent. That term fit

Speck in a frighteningly accurate way! Our thoughts go out to all the victims that were impacted

by this not-human being!

We will continue tales of past and present in our next Sprinkler, in our Grave Thoughts area.

Stay safe everyone and leave a light on!

Let’s get to some weird and interesting stuff!

- Shocking video claims to capture Bigfoot lurking in Colorado woods! A whitewater

rafting crew were traveling down the Upper Colorado River in May. The creature was

spotted about 500 yards away. The crew shared the footage with DailyMail. Check it out!

The crew is determined to return and confirm the siting. Do you believe?

- If you still write shopping lists on paper instead of using your phone, psychology says you

have seven distinct qualities. These include, being conscientious, your memory gets a

bonus workout, you shop with intention, you use cognitive offloading to lower stress and

you have a healthy streak of nostalgia!

- Man gets stuck in chimney while trying to get his dog out of a locked building.

Firefighters in Connecticut had to rescue the man from the chimney. The man stated that

his dog was inside the parks building when the doors automatically locked for the night.

The damage caused to the building to rescue the man is around $10K! The man was

arrested and charged with burglary and trespassing. That really bites!

- Boy struck by lightning in New York’s Central Park says he feels lucky! The 15-year-old

boy says he feels pretty lucky for surviving the strike. Strong storms moved into the area

when the boy was at the park with friends. The sophomore said to his friends lets lean

against this tree and ride the storm out. The boy was unconscious for several minutes

after the strike, but ultimately was determined to be ok. I’m glad he is alright, but there is

some teaching that is needed for this teen!

- An 80-year-old man drives a Mercedes Benz down Rome’s Spanish Steps and gets stuck!

The man was tested for driving under the influence, but came up clean. The man, when

questioned by police stated he really had no idea how he ended up on the famed set of

stairs. You can’t make this shit up!

- A runaway pet zebra has been captured in Tennessee! Ed the zebra was on the loose for

about a week before he was finally located and trapped. Ed was airlifted by helicopter, to

a waiting animal trailer. The owner of the zebra stated that the day after he took delivery

of the zebra, he ran away. I mean come on, should these really be pets?!

- An Australian woman is on trial for mushroom murder of her in-laws. She says she was

simply trying to fix them a bland lunch! The woman had a few relatives over for lunch but

three of the four ended up dying from the meal. Death cap mushrooms were the

ingredient that killed the three. The defense is stating it was a poor storage mishap that

caused the mushroom to contaminate the Beef Wellington she served. The prosecutors

are claiming the woman poisoned her relatives on purpose, but have yet to reveal a

motive. The over six-week trial continues. I mean WTF?!

- A 700-pound boulder pins Alaska man face-down in a glacier creek for three hours! The

man survived thanks to a sled dog company that happened to be in the area and his wife

who was a state trooper at one time. No words for this one!

- Brazil’s lifelike doll craze goes from shopping malls to state legislators! The lifelike dolls

are seen all over social media with the owners treating them like real living children.

Some of the owners have sought medical help for these lifelike dolls, which is causing

concern to say the least. The government is considering bills to prevent the waste of

medical resources for these non-living dolls! Is this a stunt for the M3egan sequel?

- And lastly, an anmial rescue is seeking a forever home for a parrot with a R-rated

vocabulary! The 20-year-old parrot named Hendrix was not taken care of by its owners

and is recovering at the rescue in Rhode Island. The bird’s vocabulary consists mostly of

curse words and slurs. The bird is healing nicely, but his vocabulary is rude and crude!

This brings a new meaning to flipping the bird!

is Scott Weiland.

Scott Richard Kline was born in 1967, and tragically passed away at the way too early age of 48.
He is best known for being the incredible lead vocalist of Stone Temple Pilots starting in 1989.
He also fronted the super group Velvet Revolver from 2003 to 2008. Scott’s vocals, style and
presence were a powerful combination very few rock groups have been able to display. His
writing brought eclectic lyrics to the forefront of the grunge movement. Many of STP’s songs
reminded music aficionados of the Beatles. Scott had amazing range, and coupled with his
uniquely energetic style simply rocked!
Mood evoking lyrics coupled with hard charging rock accompaniment brought hit after hit to
STP and Velvet Revolver. Scott incorporated a megaphone during several songs which just
worked for him! Scott wrote in his autobiography that he was raped at the age of 12 by an older
male who invited him into to his Ohio home. Scott fought his demons as an adult, drugs were his
choice and this landed him in jail, as well as many stints in rehab. When you listen to his vocals
you can feel his tortured life in each word. Scott always came across as flamboyant and had a
style all his own. Scott is survived by a son and daughter.
I have fond memories of seeing STP in concert in the early 90s and listening to their music on
cassette, album and eventually CD. Mykal appreciates STP as well as Velvet Revolver, it’s always
cool to see a generational jump with rock bands. I really dig all of Scott’s songs, The Big Empty
really hits home every time I hear it! This line sums up Scott’s depth and creativity: “Time to
take her home, her dizzy head is conscience laden.” RIP Scott.

One of my favorite Audrey Hepburn quotes:“Nothing is impossible, the word itself says possible!”

Audrey 1966

Every time Happy Cry comes on, it’s like the song reaches into that quiet place inside me where her memory still lives. It’s strange how you can feel grateful for what you had while grieving what it turned into, how you can laugh at a memory and feel tears at the same time. That song feels like standing in the doorway of a life that doesn’t exist anymore looking in, knowing I can’t go back, but not fully ready to walk away either. It reminds me that healing isn’t about forgetting; it’s about learning to live with the empty spaces, with the way her ghost sits in the passenger seat on long drives or how certain songs feel like her hand brushing against mine. Happy Cry lets me feel it all without shame the hurt, the gratitude, the ache of moving forward with pieces of the past still in my chest.
